Birds Of Prey by Lisa Nikole Photography

Hawks and Eagles are my most favorite birds. Birds of Prey!

I’ve been trying to capture this hawk for a few weeks, he’s always sitting on this pole and finally he allowed me a moment to capture him.

Photography is a major force in explaining man to man.

****Edward Steichen

Would you not agree? From the beginning of time, drawings on walls and carvings on caves, we use pictures to express and to let people know exactly what our lives are about at a certain time.

Explaining man to man! Perfect!

Lebowitz A Dream | Lisa Nikole Photography

I was scared to do anything in the studio because it felt so claustrophobic. I wanted to be somewhere where things could happen and the subject wasn’t just looking back at you. – Annie Lebowitz

Being a female photographer of some age (I don’t think you’ll find my birthday like you can Annies) you need to find roll models that give you courage to go on and there is no better then Annie Lebowitz. She’s amazing and an amazing example of a photographer.

Next month I’m doing all my quotes on Annie but this one stuck out to me. It’s how I feel. Studio’s are stiff and limited in the creative abilities. Look this way or that, sit on a stool or a chair, this background or that. It’s controlled and I don’t care for it.

Summer, Winter Spring or Fall, there is nothing like the background of the world behind you. Fresh air, and the natural lighting created by the sky above us. A studio suffocates and I want my images to breath.

How’s that for an original quote by Lisa Nikole

A studio suffocates and I want my images to breathe!

If I could mentor under anyone, it’s would be Ms. Lebowitz!
