Portrait Sessions | Lisa Nikole Photography | Conoway Family

The Conoway Family! Both their boys were extremely brilliant and both were complete opposites of each other. It was fun and sometimes humorous to see them interact together. Mom and Dad were fun people and I can only imagine the fun times they have had as a family. Loved shooting them and enjoying a beautiful fall day.

Soap Box Time For Lisa Nikole – Stepping Up –

Friday, March 15th, 2013

Last month we went to the ice festival on the Loop, it was fun. A bit too far spread out and of course the hottest day of the winter. Ice Sculptures are resilient. I was surprised at how long they lasted. We had fun.

The thing I wanted to write about (again) is a situation that happened at a local comic store. We entered because my grandson thought there were toys, but what we found were amazing local artists drawing anything we asked. Ami of course asked for an Iron Man.
We had to stand for a while but, the thing that amazed me was a parent that came in with about 3 children. One child was very interested in the drawing going on and nudged his way to stand in front of me, next to Ami. The mother looked and then walked away….not just a few steps, she literally a few 10’s of feet all the way to the end of the store. My mouth stood open. I watched her, as she did not look up once in the 5-10 minutes she was gone.

Now, I know I’m a good person, I would not have allowed anything to happen to this young man. His age I am guessing around 6 or 7. But she did not know me and in that 5/10 minute spam I could have easily left the place with him and in the crowds outside, she’d never find him. My mind was full of thoughts of what could have happened, as she stood so far away, oblivious to the fact he was there and looking at comic books.

I took this picture to actually share with you as I thought, here we go again, child abduction 101 blog post.

I am amazed at the people in this world who are so trusting. Maybe I look like a grandmother and trusting but I am very sure there are people out there that appear trusting and are not.
People, your children are precious….

Patience and Perseverance

These are the images you dream of, the one that captures the soul meaning of what is going on. Capturing the essence of life and perhaps adding thought to the viewer.
